Areas of Support

You do not need a neat label for what you are experiencing.

People rarely arrive with everything neatly named. You might know you feel anxious, overwhelmed, self-critical, exhausted, stuck or disconnected from yourself. You might only know that something has become harder to carry than it used to be.

That is enough of a starting point.

These areas are here to help you recognise where your experience might fit — not to place you in a box.

Before you choose

Your experience might sit in more than one place.

Anxiety can come with self-doubt. Self-doubt can lead to overthinking. Overthinking can create emotional exhaustion. Feeling disconnected from yourself can make decisions, boundaries and change feel harder.

Human experience does not always divide cleanly into categories. You might recognise yourself in several of these areas, or you might not be sure which one feels closest.

That does not mean you are choosing incorrectly. A free initial chat can help us talk things through and notice where the work might begin.

Four starting points

Where does your experience feel most alive right now?

Each area describes a different kind of inner pressure. You do not need to match every word. Notice what feels familiar, what catches your attention, or what sounds like something you have not quite had language for before.

How the areas overlap

The edges are allowed to blur.

You might come for anxiety and discover how much pressure you feel to get everything right. You might come for self-doubt and realise how often you mask, please or prepare to avoid criticism.

These pages are not meant to divide you into categories. They are meant to help you begin.

You might come because you feel stuck and notice that your body has been exhausted from years of staying on alert.

You might come because you cannot switch off and discover that rest feels difficult because you have been carrying responsibility that was never fully yours.

You might come because you doubt yourself and find that the doubt has been protecting you from criticism, rejection or getting things wrong.

You might come because you feel disconnected from yourself and realise how long you have been adapting to what others needed.

The same careful approach

Different doorway, same respect for the person.

Whichever page feels closest, support begins by slowing things down enough to understand what your mind and body have been trying to manage.

Mind

Thoughts and inner dialogue

Thoughts, worries, predictions, mental rehearsal and the way your mind tries to make sense of what feels difficult.

Body

Activation and response

Tension, activation, shutdown, restlessness, fatigue, emotional intensity or the felt sense that something is too much.

Meaning

What it means to you

The personal significance you attach to situations, sensations, relationships, roles or choices.

Change

More space and choice

More emotional safety, self-trust and choice in everyday responses, without forcing you into someone else’s version of change.

Neurodiversity-aware and inclusive

Support should not expect everyone to process life in the same way.

Some people need more structure. Some need more time. Some feel overwhelmed by open-ended questions. Some have spent years masking, adapting, rehearsing conversations or trying to appear fine.

You may be diagnosed, self-identifying, exploring neurodivergence, or simply aware that the usual advice has never quite fitted.

Support is adapted with respect for different ways of processing emotion, pressure, communication and change.

Still not sure?

You do not need to choose perfectly before you begin.

If several areas feel familiar, start with the one that feels most present right now. If none of them fit neatly, that is okay too.

Together, we can explore what has been happening, what you would like to be different, and whether InnerSentia Therapies feels like the right support for you.
